How can concept-mapping tools be used to address different learning styles?
There are many concept-mapping tools available in books for the student who prefer to work on paper, but there are also many websites that allow students to create various graphic organizers on the computer. A great one that was not mentioned in the book is mywebspiration.com.
Concept-mapping targets the naturalist learners who like to organize as well as the visual learners.
Great Post, we will be working with webspiration in a project coming up:)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE concept mapping and I wish we would have done more of it when I was in school. Children benefit greatly from being able to see all their ideas mapped out before grouping them together for reasons like papers, essays, tests, and projects.
ReplyDeleteConcept mapping is a wonderful tool for students to use to generate ideas, thoughts, and to organize information. Can't wait to use the website you suggested, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link. I LOVE organization tools! They help students sort information and to form clear ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the extra website! I will be checking it out and adding it to my list of useful websites :)
ReplyDeleteConcept mapping can probably also be used to help the unorganized students get organized.
ReplyDeleteThese sites for creating graphic organizers seem pretty handy. I'm sure kids like to build their own organizers to reflect their thinking.
ReplyDeleteI probably would have done much better in school when I was younger if there was more concept-mapping done. Hindsight is always 20-20.
ReplyDeleteIsa I love that you gave a website to use because it gives us as future teachers a resource! It is also important to know that concept mapping gives us another outlet to reach the students who may learn differently.
