What constitutes a technology-enriched learning environment?
A technology-enriched learning environment is when technology is used on a regular basis. Technology could be something as simple as a software program. The reading and math programs that I see students use in my placement are amazing. These programs give your students automatic feedback (correct or incorrect answers) as well as hints when the student is truly stuck and does not know how to move forward. With classrooms being run like a 'three-ringed circus' the teacher is not always available to correct the students on the computers or assist them; so having these programs are not only useful for students they also help the teachers as well.

Chapter 5
How does technology use contribute to social and equity issues in schools?
I believe that a child who has access to technology is more likely to succeed in school so therefore they could be higher up on the social pole as well as have a better chance at doing well on an assignment. I believe this because the higher in your edcuation the more research that is required for a project, so if you have access to the internet right at home then you can spend as much time on your project as you want as well as work on it whenever you want. Whereas a student without access to the internet at home has to find the time either before or after school to use their computers and will then in return be limited to how much time they can spend researching and working on the project or assignment.

Chapter 14
What role can digital storytelling play in education?
There are a variety of ways in which digital storytelling can play a role in your classroom. But first we need to know what a digital story even is. A digital story is a digital video that includes animations, audio, music, and any other media that will help tell a story. So I personally think that it would be fun as a teacher to create sample digital stories to go along with a few history or science lessons. So that you can eventually work your way up to having your students do them in groups as a project/assignment. Digital storytelling could be used as a summative assessment or just as a project. As far as what grade level you could start this sort of project, I would say you could start this in a 4th grade classroom. I do not think that students in the 3rd grade would have the patience or the computer comprehension yet to successfully create a digital story.

Ch. 12: Simulations and Data Analysis
What are the benefits of using computer simulations?
There are many benefits to using computer simulations in your classroom. The first benefit and in my opininon one of the biggest benefits is being able to store your data in a form that is so easy to calculate and manage. It is amazing that Excell has all the equations built in to the program so you can automatically find the average, sum etc. of a coloum with just a few key strokes. Another great benefit is how easily and quicly you can convert your data into a graph. With the Excell program if you highligh your data you can convert that into any type of graph that you want. You can convert it into a pie graph, bar graph, cones etc. I do not know how easy it would be to teach Elementary level students how to use programs such as excell but as far as the teachers using the program I think it is great.

Ch. 3: Getting to Know the World Wide Web
What is blogging and how do you get started?
Blogs offer a personal way to espress opinions, communicate ideas, and share interesting links. It is simple to use and very easy to setup. The most common website used is blogger.com which we used in class to set up our personal blogs. To start a blog you just go to http://www.blogger.com/ and set up your account and from there on out it is a step by step process. I believe that blogs would be a useful tool to communicate with students parents in regards to assignments (general not personal).

Ch. 2:Productivity Tools and Application Software
How can concept-mapping tools be used to address different learning styles?
There are many concept-mapping tools available in books for the student who prefer to work on paper, but there are also many websites that allow students to create various graphic organizers on the computer. A great one that was not mentioned in the book is mywebspiration.com.
Concept-mapping targets the naturalist learners who like to organize as well as the visual learners.

Ch. 1: Getting Started with Technology
What impact will technology have on the future of educators and education?
Technology already has a huge impact on educators. In classrooms today it is more uncommon to see a classroom without a projector and a document camera then it is to see an overhead machine. As we all saw on our first night of class, the students that we will be teaching are going to be extremely computer savy and will be bored if we do not include the new tools that we have at our fingertips. Such as diigo.com. smart boards, notebook presentations, wikispaces for the classroom, ELMO's, Projectors etc.
