What impact will technology have on the future of educators and education?
Technology already has a huge impact on educators. In classrooms today it is more uncommon to see a classroom without a projector and a document camera then it is to see an overhead machine. As we all saw on our first night of class, the students that we will be teaching are going to be extremely computer savy and will be bored if we do not include the new tools that we have at our fingertips. Such as diigo.com. smart boards, notebook presentations, wikispaces for the classroom, ELMO's, Projectors etc.
It's great that you mentioned how the lack of technology in the classroom might bore students because it has been such an influential part of there lives for so long.
ReplyDeleteI agree! As sad as it is that some educators are actually boring to their students, the hard reality of it is that it is true. It seems students need technology to be interested.

ReplyDeleteWhile technology is a bit intimidating for me, I realize how important it is for me as a future teacher to be able to use technology and have a good attitude towards technology. We are preparing our students for a global economy in which technology is a key component.

ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing in regards to this question: technology already has a huge impact. You are right - you hardly every see overhead machines anymore. They were quite popular not all that long ago.
ReplyDeleteCasey is correct about the impact being here already. But the lack of technology in some schools is ridiculous. The schools should be setting aside money in order to provide their employees with the technology to teach their children properly and for their students learning to grow and expand.
